The air tyres on InnoPet dog strollers have a Schrager valve. This is the same kind of valve you find on most car tyres and sometimes on racing bikes.
Inflate with bicycle pump
Some bicycle pumps have a connection piece that fits the Schrager valve. If your bike pump does not have the right fitting, you will need an adapter piece.
Inflate the tyre with your bicycle pump. After each pumping movement, feel how firm the tyre is. The tyre should not be inflated too firmly, as a tyre that is too hard can pop.
The tyre should still give a little when you press it with your fingers. Then the tyre is full enough.
Inflating at petrol station or with air compressor
At petrol stations, they often have a device or compressor to inflate car tyres with. You can use this to inflate the tyres of your dog stroller.*
Do not assume that the bar or psi number printed on the tyre is correct. This is the maximum pressure the outer tyre can handle, and not in all cases this pressure is suitable for the inner tube.
Press the tyre with your thumb and index finger while the compressor fills the tyre with air. The tyre should still give a little when you press it with your fingers. Then the tyre is full enough.
The tyre should not be inflated too firmly, as a tyre that is too hard can pop.
*If the tyre is completely flat, we still recommend using a bicycle pump. This is because the valve is pushed into the tyre when you put the nozzle of the compressor on the valve. Filling the tyre is then almost impossible.
